Buon Giorno!
Here are some memories of Italy in September, 2009 - Rome, Umbria and Tuscany.

Have some fresh figs from Tuscany and enjoy the morning sunshine!

Hilltop villages abound, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves in this part of the world.

The internet café, Italian style in Volterra.

Jazz After Hours visits a wine tasting in Panzano, on the Chianti Road. EU listeners hear Jazz After Hours on Saturdays and Sundays between 6 AM and 1 PM via internet streams from US stations.
The Ponte Vecchio on the Arno from our restaurant table in Firenze (Florence).

We took the ES (EuroStar) from Florence back to Rome ... in a flash!

Seafood with fresh pasta and tomatos at an outdoor restaurant on the Campo di Fiore in Rome.

... and no visit to Rome is complete without a visit to the fantastic Trevi Fountain, accompanied by a gelato!
It was a memorable visit with wonderful sights and history at every turn... Roman ruins, The Uffizi and Borghese museums, The Tiber and the Arno, centuries-old hill towns in Tuscany, the great food and wine.
The weather was pleasant in September and crowds are smaller than mid-summer. But watch out for the
many Vespas and all two-wheeled vehicles in Rome. They go flat out max speed at all times!
Grazie, Italia .... Arrividerci!
